Recognition of the Negative Effect of Implicit Bias in Plaintiff's Cases
Presenter:
Ché L. Hashim
Attorney at Law
This program seeks to arm members of the Plaintiff's bar with tools to recognize the decision points in our practice, and in our cases, in which our, and others' decision-making may be obscured by implicit bias. We aim for introspection, in recognizing the way in which implicit biases we hold may affect our ability to make well-informed decisions about our practice and our client’s cases, as well as exploring how implicit biases held by not only jurors, but treaters, other experts, co-workers, family members, before and after witnesses, mediators, judges, and others who contribute to our trial presentations, may impair our quest for justice for our clients.
